We held our annual village fete on Saturday 17 June, which drew a crowd of more than 100 residents and their families, plus some of Lime Tree Village’s staff and guests.
There was plenty to get involved with at the fete including a treasure hunt and raffle, a ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition, hoopla and various stalls selling homemade cakes, jams and books.
We booked a live band and some local singers to provide musical entertainment and hosted a Pimm’s bar for people to cool down in – it was very hot on the day. A barbeque serving a mouth-watering array of food was kept extremely busy!
Recently we have been fundraising for local hammer thrower Craig Murch, who has international career ambitions, as well as the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
We invited Craig and Clare Cassidy from the BHF to attend the fete and accept their cheques, which were presented by Pat Beasley and David Couzens of the Residents Association and our Village Manager Patrick Johnson.
Things didn’t start winding down until late into the evening! It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all.
