Cedars Village, Hertfordshire

A share in your own ‘stately home’

Cedars Village is situated in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire and is the perfect place to settle to enjoy retirement life after 60.

Arriving at Cedars Retirement Village, you are greeted by a sweeping driveway leading to Cedars Mansion House, an incredible Grade II listed building, standing proudly within a picturesque landscape. Hugging the building is possibly the most iconic feature of Cedars Village – its two-storey glass conservatory, which holds decades of history.

The dramatic black and white tiles that pave the floor of the conservatory are an indication of its Victorian heritage. In its day, it was used as a hot house – a home for tropical plants and animals.

Whilst the animals have gone and it is now fully stocked with Mediterranean planting, the stunning structure remains and having undergone a complete overhaul in 2010, is now very much at the centre of village life.

We recently redecorated our beautiful restaurant to a very high specification. The regal like furniture and carpet blend perfectly with the dark green window drapes and polished wooden mantlepiece. It truly is a wonderful social space to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or afternoon tea.

Range of retirement property options

Residents enjoy the on-site facilities which include an elegant restaurant, ballroom, library, hobbies room, bar, medical centre and snooker room.
But the beauty of Cedars Retirement Village does not just lie within the grand buildings and beautiful grounds. You can enjoy independent retirement living in your own home whilst enjoying the benefits of a bustling community.

There are a number of retirement options to choose from within the 154 privately owned retirement homes. You may choose to live right in the heart of village life, in which case the Mansion House with a number of first or second floor apartments could be for you. For those seeking a more peaceful surrounding, there are a number of cottages and bungalows available nestled within the 22-acre site.

There is no shortage of open spaces for residents to enjoy. Cedars Village is surrounded by a stretch of woodland, a wildflower meadow and manicured lawns with a croquet lawn. Just a short distance from the village there is a nine-hole golf course and a cricket ground.
