After all the activities during December the village settled down to enjoy the routine activities, until a surprise event was organised by Rae Donaldson and her team. Rae is from Scotland so what else could it be in January but Burns’ Night, on the 25th. Many residents dressed up for the occasion (with apologies to any true Scots who may be reading this!).
A comprehensive buffet was provided, complete with a haggis. True to tradition the haggis was piped in by a genuine piper and was addressed by another Scot, George Steele. Entertainment followed, in between tots of whisky. It was a memorable evening which we are hoping to do again next year.
Contribution from resident Michael Pettet.
