We have appointed Chrissy Terry as manager of The Grange residential care home, part of Mayford Grange retirement village.

Chrissy has more than 20 years of experience running care homes and working as a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) assessor in health and social care.

At The Grange Chrissy will be responsible for evaluating new residents and creating care plans tailored to their specific needs, ensuring care services provided are of the highest quality, managing staff and providing training, as well as all aspects of CQC compliance and marketing.

“I was attracted to The Grange because its intimate size means we can offer a truly personalised service,” she explains. “We deliver the care residents need, but take the time to get to know and build genuine relationships with them. This creates a positive, family-like atmosphere, keeping residents and staff alike happy and comfortable.”

Originally a HR secretary, Chrissy joined Ravenswood Village, a home for people with learning disabilities, as a front line carer. She gained the relevant qualifications and worked hard, progressing to manager level in just three years.

Chrissy was employed at Ravenswood for over two decades, taking a break in the middle to work with disadvantaged children in Australia. While Chrissy was at Ravenswood she also worked as an NVQ assessor and internal verifier. She left in 2010 to run a succession of homes, specialising in caring for the elderly and those living with dementia.

Chrissy continued: “I am delighted to join The Grange. It is a luxurious facility in a beautiful location that has a professional, extremely competent team. I believe my experience will stand me in good stead in my new role and I am looking forward to taking the business forward in 2017.”
