‘Target Bowls’ competition held at Elmbridge

The Elmbridge indoor bowls group, organised by resident Laurie Russell, meet four times a week in the hall at Elmbridge Manor and twice a year hold a ‘Target Bowls’ competition.

Whereas normally the bowls games use a white ball called a ‘Jack’ as a target, in Target Bowls the group lays an archery-like target down on the carpet. Each player scores points according to how near their bowls finish to the centre of the target.

Some 28 members took part in our latest competition and the winners were Valerie Edwards and Marjorie Nabavi. The prize for the winners was a large box of chocolates. The bar was open and all had a very enjoyable evening.
