It’s at this time of year, Valentine’s day, where we like to recap on some of the tales of love at our retirement villages. And one of those love stories comes from two Blagdon Village residents, who met and fell in love at the village.
Geoffrey and June actually moved to Blagdon Village with their respective spouses but unfortunately were both widowed soon after moving to the retirement village.
The pair had always been friends within the village but their love soon blossomed and Mr Morton, a retired publisher eventually took the plunge and proposed to June at the top of the Eiffel Tower. On their return from this trip, the pair announced to the other residents their plans to marry and everyone was thrilled.
The couple married shortly after and a celebration was held in the village. Geoffrey and June feel blessed to have met each other and have been given a second chance of love. They will be celebrating this Valentine’s Day with a special meal in the village’s restaurant.
