Avon Park Open Day

Wellbeing is a top priority for the residents at Avonpark! With this in mind Nicky Potter, events administrator at the village, invited Carol from Octopus Wellbeing Holistic Therapy to come and speak with residents about a variety of treatments that they might enjoy and find of benefit.

Carol spoke to the residents and explained about the treatments she offers, which include hand massage, shoulder massage, reiki, and Indian head massage.

Carol demonstrated the hand massage on one resident, which helps to relax the hands, and can be beneficial for those suffering with arthritis in the hands. She also demonstrated a shoulder massage on Nicky so residents could see what this involves.

Nicky said: “This helped to relax the muscles which was very nice I might say. After demonstrating this on me, three more residents had the shoulder massage and they found it so relaxing they’ve booked up appointments for when Carol is next in.”

Residents who use the service regularly say it really does benefit them.
