Avonpark Retirement Village In Wiltshire

This week residents at Avonpark Village had a visit from the Wiltshire Police Bobby Van Trust.

Trust volunteer Sarah, gave a very helpful and interesting talk to all the independent residents regarding staying safe against fraud, identity theft and abuse online.

The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust has worked in partnership with Wiltshire Police since 1998, initially providing a home security service for elderly and vulnerable people throughout Wiltshire.

Now they also offer a bespoke Online Safety Initiative – Stay Safe Online. Trained ‘Stay Safe Online’ volunteers provide information for improved digital security awareness, scam prevention advice, support and reassurance. They provide basic practical skills for checking and understanding digital privacy setting, and direct people to future sources of advice and resources.

Sarah will also be visiting some residents on a one to one basis to help them with their devices within their homes.
