The latest news from Thamesfield retirement village

The last six weeks have been a busy time for the residents of Thamesfield.

We went on a pub lunch trip to ‘The Golden Ball’ in Middle Assendon, which is a firm favourite of the residents. We also arranged a themed lunch and an activity to celebrate Thanksgiving, and a visit to Toad Hall Garden Centre, where residents browsed the Christmas decorations and did some shopping.

We held a craft session at Thamesfield to make some seasonal decorations and glitter up pinecones ready for the flower arranging activity. The residents made eight flower arrangements to put round the building for the Christmas party.

Finally, Thamesfield residents have enjoyed performances from a variety of singers and entertainers. One of these was a Christmas production from ‘James Amazing’, where he started the show dressed as Willy Wonka and finished up in a Santa outfit. Residents were treated to mulled wine and mince pies, home made by our team of chefs.

This entertainment is set to continue, with many other of the residents’ favourite artists booked to perform in the run up to Christmas and beyond.
