Thamesfield Poetry Society

Thamesfield Poetry Society has been getting together for a monthly poetry writing class. Residents work together to write a poem for the following month’s internal village newsletter.

Here is a sneak peak of December’s offering…

December, December it can’t be December,

With all the things I need to remember.

Christmas is coming, no time to delay,

As we prepare for our festive day.

Stamps to buy for the cards that we write,

Presents to wrap and candles to light.

Trees to decorate, turkeys to stuff,

Mince pies to bake, have we enough?

Midnight mass with carols to sing

And church bells that joyfully ring.

Christmas comes once a year,

Bringing with it very good cheer.
