Garden party raises funds for St John Ambulance

Residents of Thamesfield and their families, together with staff and guests, held a Summer Garden Party on the riverbank to raise £241 for St John Ambulance, a charity dedicated to the teaching and practice of first aid.

There was music from a live pianist, afternoon cream teas and a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses including Bluebells, Fawley Wine and The Golden Ball.

The weather was glorious on the day and approximately 70 people attended.

We contributed the £241 to Rebecca Scrase, who is trying to raise £4,000 for St John Ambulance by trekking across Costa Rica. This will pay for vital first aid equipment used by volunteers at local events.

Our Village Manager Sophia Lawrence presented a cheque to Rebecca in what constituted a hugely enjoyable summer afternoon.
