The Challenge Event is a four-week team building programme for teenagers across the country. The scheme sees the teenagers undertake ‘challenges’ in their local community.

For the last three years, one of the challenges assigned to local Surrey students has been to visit the residents of Elmbridge Village and organise activities with them. The group of 15-17 year old teenagers who visited this year chose to hold music sessions for the residents at the village. It was a great bonding exercise for both the students and residents alike and it was brilliant to see two generations come together to play music.

The students visited Elmbridge Village on four occasions, holding a tea party with residents on their final visit in a bid to raise money the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The tea party was a great success and the Chairman of Cranleigh Council joined the residents and students for the event. A raffle raised a generous £230.00 for the charity.

Elmbridge Village residents are keen supporters of their local community so were thrilled to be a part of this programme.
