Resident Ros Shirran has been so grateful to retirement community staff during these unusual times, that she has hand delivered boxes of chocolates to them.
The generous gesture was made by Ros, who lives at Cedars Village, as a personal thank you to staff for everything they are doing to keep daily life as normal as possible, and for going the extra mile in helping her to recover from ill health.
Ros delivered around 20 boxes of chocolates to village manager Colin Foulger, who then distributed them among administration, grounds/maintenance, medical and housekeeping staff who have carried on delivering a first-class service during the pandemic.
Ros joined Cedars Village six years ago having been in her previous property in Northwood for more than 30 years, and initially felt apprehensive about moving.
However, she has never regretted her move. She said: “Cedars has everything you could possibly want and need from a retirement community; everyone who works here is so friendly, helpful and easy to get along with. Nothing is too much trouble; particularly in these unusual times when everyone has gone the extra mile to maintain as normal a community life as possible.
“The staff have also been amazing during my recovery from recent ill health and I just wanted to say a big thank you.”
Colin said: “This is such a wonderful gesture by Ros, and myself and all the staff are touched by her kindness.
“Ros is a fabulous resident, with a happy and smiley demeanour which rubs off on everyone she meets.”
