Operation Christmas Child, ran by the Samaritan’s Purse, is a global campaign aiming to give less fortunate children a shoebox full of gifts at Christmas.
After hearing about the powerful impact a small shoebox can have on a child’s Christmas, the residents at Mayford Grange in Surrey, did not hesitate to get involved.
Mayford Grange collected and stocked 11 children’s shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, organised by the village’s administrator.
Both villagers and staff donated necessities and small gifts to fill the festive boxes; which are labelled with age and suitability.
Since 1990, more than 157 million children in over 160 countries have been able to receive a special shoebox full of gifts, and this year residents at Mayford Grange will be ensuring this figure continues to increase.
