Ducklings, dogs and alpacas join the summer fete

On a fine summer’s day residents and their families gathered at the Moat House for a summer fete with a difference

A nature-based setting was created and the residents were joined by some furry friends – alpacas, ducklings and dogs. The alpacas that paid a visit are owned by one of the resident’s families and the local RSPCA animal shelter brought in Pat dogs. The residents were able to get up close and personal with the animals and thoroughly enjoyed having them around.

The resident duckling also made an appearance on the day of the fete and they decided to name it Freda.  The activities coordinator for The Moat House has recently helped residents to incubate hatch and raise a duckling. The duckling has since been making regular visits that the residents very much enjoy.

To top of the day vegetables and flowers have been grown by the residents for the outdoor living areas which were admired by all throughout the day. Everyone had a fantastic day and are looking forward to the next social occasion.
