It has been a busy December for Residents and Staff at Moat Park, with a variety of Christmas events.
A Christmas lunch was arranged by the staff of Moat Park and was a great success. The food was delicious and cooked in the new kitchen within the social club. The room decorations and table layout were very pleasing and we were served very professionally by Kerri, our Village Manager and her team of helpers. After the meal, mince pies and coffee were served and Santa Claus arrived with gifts for the Residents. A most enjoyable lunch.
An evening Christmas buffet was held, requesting residents to arrive “dressed posh”. With a variety of buffet foods and music provided by the singers Ray and Rita, residents enjoyed the atmosphere, with some residents taking to the dance floor in the social club.
A special coffee morning was held, inviting Moat Park staff, thanking them for their hard work and contribution to the running of the village. Mince pies and shortcake were enjoyed by all.
A Christmas quiz night was also held, with some interesting and brain thinking questions, organised by one our residents. The bar was open and with background Christmas music, a raffle and lots of Christmas humour, it proved to be a successful evening. Our monthly Quiz Night is very popular, so will continue throughout 2018.
On New Years Eve, a party was held alongside a buffet. Christmas music played throughout the evening, with a wonderful selection of food, provided by many of the residents. “Auld Lang Syne” was sung slightly earlier than midnight and fireworks could be heard in the distance at midnight in the nearby village of Great Easton. A good ending to the evening and year’s events.
So, it was a busy December for the residents and the Entertainments Committee, who organised the events with Kerri, our Village Manager.
Overall, a memorable December 2017, here at Moat Park.
Stay tuned for further updates – we are looking to enjoy a Macmillan Tea and singing event next week!
