It’s open!

Our new village clubhouse is open – and we love it!

We’ve been watching the building taking shape from the outside for months but our first glimpse inside came at the official unveiling ceremony.

What a party it was – and what a venue!

A number of Retirement Villages’ directors attended, including Chief Executive Jon Gooding who declared our brand new facility officially open.

We had a guitarist playing the most wonderful music and food cooked in our kitchens here at Gittisham Hill Park.

For the most part we just wandered around in awe. Three sides of the room are almost all floor to ceiling windows so the light floods in and there are pretty views of the village from every angle. There’s a dining area with a kitchen so we can make drinks, lots of little seating areas, a library area… and the decoration is beautiful – all light wood and soft blues.

Outside there’s a full width terrace with a railing reminiscent of a ship’s deck. That’s where we posed for what has become known as the ‘cruise ship’ picture, shown here.

Everyone was buzzing with ideas of how we can use the new clubhouse so we look forward to bringing you lots of reports of new activities at the village.
