A busy April at Roseland Parc

April has been another busy month for the residents at Roseland Parc with birthdays, visits and new language courses to enjoy.

We were pleased to welcome the Guide Dog Society to the village this April! Sue and her wonderful dog Sandy came to visit and gave a talk about all the great work that the society does for visually impaired people. We have decided that we would really like to fundraise for this very worthy cause and are busy planning our event already.

Anne Nye celebrated her 90th birthday! Anne was joined by her friends at a special birthday party with tea, coffee, cake, sandwiches and wine in our beautiful restaurant. Everyone had a wonderful time.

We currently have two new language courses running in the library. French is held twice a month and is run by a qualified teacher and the residents get homework to take away! We also have a couple of people from the local village who attend as well, which is wonderful.

In addition to this we have beginners Italian enjoyed by many residents some of whom are well into their nineties and are really enjoying them. It just goes to prove you are never too old to learn!

Village resident Dorothy Spink said: “The Italian language class in Roseland Parc is a U3A Group. It is very informal but great fun. It enables residents here to meet people from other villages, which widens one’s circle of friends. An Italian lady (also a resident here) provides background knowledge for which we are indebted. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.”
