Lots to do at Castle Village
The Retirement Villages’ objective is to ensure that all residents enjoy a fulfilling retirement lifestyle. For some that could mean simply taking it easy and doing very little; for others it could mean trying new things and being at the heart of social networks. At Castle Village, the range of facilities makes it possible for residents to do as they choose.
The village is renowned for its vibrant and varied social life with a broad range of special interest and social groups run by the residents for the residents.
Most of the facilities are centred around the magnificent Grade II Mansion House. It is the heartbeat of the village and provides a country club-style atmosphere. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the wood panelled restaurant and provides a wonderful environment for family meals, quiet lunches or social dinners.
There is a separate meeting room which is used extensively by many of the village clubs and societies for their regular meetings but the Mansion House also houses a popular bar, library and snooker room.
For complete peace of mind, a 24/7 emergency response service is available managed by onsite staff.
Croquet on the sweeping lawns
The conservatory opens out onto a lovely sun terrace which in turn leads down to sweeping lawns where residents play croquet and putting during the warmer summer months.
The location of the retirement village also means that golfers can use the facilities of Berkhamsted Golf Club which is literally next door; and there are lots of lovely walks both within and outside the village in the mature woodland landscape.
There is something for everyone at Castle Village – whether you want a quiet and relaxing retirement or you prefer a more active one. The choice is entirely yours.
