Our Villages

While we build beautiful homes in gorgeous settings, our residents are the ones who transform them into communities.

As a result, like every village across the country, each community is unique.

But all share certain characteristics which we believe give our residents the independence, freedom and support to enable them to make the very best of life.

Facilities

Each village enjoys its own dedicated facilities for the exclusive use of residents and invited guests. These are generally found in a central clubhouse which resembles a traditional country club.

Every village has a communal area, with bar, lounge and dining options, perfect for getting together with neighbours, entertaining guests or staging village activities. Other facilities are particular to different villages, the historic conservatory at Cedars Village for instance or the swimming pools at The Priory and Roseland Parc. Many of our villages have convenience shops and there are snooker rooms and croquet lawns in abundance. Castle Village has its own tennis court while Blagdon Village and Roseland Parc both have fitness suites.

Support

Not everyone needs to call on the support which is available at a retirement village but, for many, just knowing it is there offers invaluable peace of mind. Every village has 24 hour emergency support and properties are fitted with alarm call systems.

Our domiciliary care company, RV Care, is able to provide care and support to meet the changing needs of residents within our independent living villages if required.

Care

While some of our villages offer entirely independent living, others have further living options available. These may include a residential care home, nursing care and, at a growing number of sites, specialist dementia care.

Staff

Every village has a team of staff dedicated to making residents’ life easier. External property maintenance is taken care of and the grounds are looked after all year round. A level of domestic cleaning is provided to every resident. Restaurants and dining rooms are overseen by trained chefs who cook a range of nutritionally balanced meals using local ingredients wherever possible.

A full time Village Manager, helped by administration staff, ensures the village runs smoothly, liaising with residents, managing support staff and helping organise events and activities when appropriate. Our residents often describe their village staff as being a fount of information and knowledge, able to advise on local buses, suggest places to visit, recommend local services and fulfil a myriad different roles!

Fun

The social aspect of living in a retirement village is one of the key benefits – or so our residents say. Being in a community of like-minded people, knowing there are neighbours just waiting to become friends and having a ready-made calendar of activities, special interest groups and events to tap into are all reasons recorded in a recent residents’ survey for choosing to move into a retirement village.

The little extras

For those who drive there are parking spaces and, at some villages, garages available.

Pets are welcome as are overnight guests; indeed some villages have specially appointed guest suites available to rent.
