Reclaiming the title
We are delighted to share that we, Retirement Villages Group (RVG), have been awarded ‘Integrated Retirement Operator of the Year’ award at the 2025 RESI Awards. Having won the award in 2023, we are pleased to reclaim the title in 2025 and this accolade is a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in providing integrated retirement communities.
Innovative solutions for retirement living
Since 1981, RVG has been at the forefront of developing and operating retirement communities that promote active, independent lifestyles as part of a safe and supported community. In 2023, we launched our brand new Thrive Living collection designed to meet the evolving needs of our residents, offering a blueprint for the sector.
In 2024, we introduced the Enjoy Now, Pay Later financial model, a first-of-its-kind in the private retirement living sector. This model simplifies the process of buying and selling homes, providing residents with financial certainty and affordability. With RVG taking on the responsibility of refurbishing and re-selling homes, residents can enjoy lower weekly fees and peace of mind regarding their financial future.
Commitment to sustainability
RVG is proud to be a sustainability leader in the retirement living sector. We have signed the UN Race to Zero pledge and adopted Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved goals to achieve net-zero carbon by 2035. Our new developments are built as whole-of-life net-zero carbon, and we have implemented an internal carbon levy to fund decarbonization efforts across our existing villages.
Enhancing resident experience
Our £100m improvement program is enhancing amenities across all our villages such as Cedars and Castle, transitioning from historic service charge leases to fixed management fees, and reforming lease terms to better serve our residents. We offer standard 999-year leases, remove ground rents, and replace variable service charges with predictable annual costs.
Future growth and development
RVG remains committed to growth, with our first Thrive Living community, The Wyldewoods, now open in Chester, Botanical Place in West Byfleet opening in Autumn 2025 and Tunbridge Wells and West Malling opening in 2026. Our mission is to address the need for more age-appropriate housing at pace, navigating the challenges of the UK’s restrictive planning system.
