The civil parish of Chorleywood in Hertfordshire is home to one of Retirement Village’s largest and most established villages, Cedars Village.

Sitting on the quaintly named Dog Kennel Lane, the sweeping drive of the 22 acre site opens onto Chorleywood Common – home to the annual Chorleywood Village Day organised by the local parish council.

This year’s Village Day was the biggest yet, playing host to over 1,000 visitors on the hottest day of the year so far (July 13th).

Staff from Cedars Village and Retirement Villages joined in the day’s festivities, which included a dog show and a tent-pitching contest, as one of the 90 local stallholders and exhibitors taking part.

Regional Manager Darren Welch said, “Getting involved with the local community is part of the Retirement Village’s philosophy and Cedars Village is no exception. We had a great day and met many local people and organisations.”
