As the UK’s leading provider of luxury retirement communities, we are delighted to announce the appointment of new Non-Executive Director, Christina Edwards CBE.

Christina has a wealth of experience in the National Health Service – as a front-line nurse and at senior management level.

A key part of her new role will be to lead the Group’s Compliance Committee, ensuring best practice in governance, quality and risk management across all functions of the business.

Christina’s appointment follows further changes to the board as we look to strengthen our position ready for growth.

Oscar Russell joins following his recent promotion to Group Estates Director. Oscar has been with the company for two years having previously managed large residential portfolios in the London area for some of the leading house builders and developers.

Also joining the board is David Thomas, recently confirmed Group Care Director, having held the position on an interim basis. David brings extensive nursing, quality and governance to the company. He previously worked at a senior level across the NHS and independent sectors.

Nigel Welby, Executive Chairman, Retirement Villages Group, said:

“We are strengthening our organisational structure to support our development programme and the growth of our care business. Making sure we are well equipped with the best systems and the highest calibre of people in the business is critical to the quality and consistency of the services and facilities we provide for our residents and thereby to our future success as we embark on the next chapter of the company’s growth.”
