Residents at our retirement villages join the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
Our residents are no strangers to a chatty coffee morning accompanied with tea and cake in their clubhouses – but this time many have decided to share their coffee morning with the rest of the world.
In support of Macmillan Coffee Morning, staff and residents across many of our villages joined together to raise money for those living with cancer.
To boost their charity donations, several villages set up a variety of stalls which included Bric a Brac, cakes, tombola, paperback books, knitting produce from the village group and much more!
Lime Tree Village Manager, Patrick Johnson said: “It’s been a great event for Lime Tree Village to raise money for such an important cause. This is a typical reflection of Lime Tree Village’s community spirit and their willingness to support charities and make generous donations. Well done to everyone involved!”
This testament has been echoed by all the village managers at those villages that took part.
The money raised can have a major impact for those who need it. According to the charity: “£52 could help run our Online Community forum for over an hour. Typically, that would give nearly 750 people affected by cancer both emotional and practical support.”
With one in two of us now facing a cancer diagnosis, our residents and village teams were glad to put their generosity to such a growingly important cause.
In total the villages raised a fantastic £3203.83!
A huge thank you to everyone that got involved.
