Our new retirement village in Newport has made a huge step towards completion as developers moved in and broke ground.
Debden Grange, located within easy reach of the M11 and close to local travel links, is the latest addition to our portfolio of 14 luxury retirement developments across the UK.
The building work, carried out by retirement construction specialists Castleoak, is split into two phases – the initial stage will see seven two-bedroom properties released for sale this Autumn and completed by late Spring 2019, with the entire village due for completion the following year.
The build cost of the new development will total £24 million, and we will be investing a total of £30 million into the site.
Each brick built cottage will comprise of a large, spacious hallway, open plan living and dining area, a modern kitchen with high-spec integrated appliances, and a double bedroom completed with ensuite and fitted wardrobe.
Upstairs, the landing leads through to the master bedroom with a second ensuite and two double fitted wardrobes; each home has a 24-hour emergency call button installed for peace of mind.
The final stage of construction will see the completion of a further 74 properties, including 10 two-bedroom cottages and 64 one and two-bedroom modern apartments.
A purpose-built central clubhouse will complete the village, which will house an on-site restaurant, resident’s bar and lounge, library, hairdressing salon, shop and sun terrace. It is the clubhouse that hosts many of the events and activities organised by the residents themselves in the established villages.

The final stage of construction will see Debden Grange house a dedicated 40-bed care home and offer residents a domiciliary care service, for those that require extra support at times.
