Open Day season gets underway at Retirement Villages

With the imminent onset of Spring, a number of villages across the Retirement Villages group will be throwing open their doors and extending a warm invitation to the public to come along and take a look.

Unlike the American model, villages in the UK are not gated communities, they are very much part and parcel of the wider surrounding area.

The forthcoming Open Day season provides an opportunity for anyone who knows little or nothing about the retirement village concept to call in and find out more for themselves.

A number of specific events are being scheduled and many will include the chance to meet and chat with existing residents who are always keen to share their experiences of living in a retirement village.

“Our villages are collections of private residences set in some of the prettiest landscapes and inhabited by a group of likeminded people who have a superb social life with some great facilities at their disposal,” explained Sarah Burgess, sales and marketing director.

“It’s easy to summarise the retirement living lifestyle but it’s quite another thing to actually come and see it for yourself which is what we will be doing over the course of the coming weeks as the season changes for the better.”

Open days already planned include:

– Open morning at Cedars Village in Chorleywood, Herts on Wednesday 2nd April, 10:30am – 12:30pm.
– Open day at Blagdon Village in Taunton, Devon on Thursday 10th April, 10.00am – 2.00pm
