Introducing Botanical Place’s Newest Retail Partner – Calm + Chaos
Retail partners are at the heart of the community in any retirement village. At Botanical Place, we work hard to find the right partners to offer our residents the perfect mix of lifestyle and convenience.
With this aim in mind, we are delighted to introduce our latest partner, Ali Turpie of “Calm + Chaos”. Ali will be offering residents personal training in his on-site gym as well as Pilates classes. Ali’s journey to becoming a fitness instructor is a unique and inspirational one, so we were keen to find out more about his history and what motivates him.
“I started out as a live director for BT Sport”, begins Ali, “but after suffering a stroke at 28, everything changed. During recovery, I found purpose in movement and rest, so I retrained as a physical trainer and opened a small private studio in Weybridge. After two years of working one-to-one, I wanted to help more people, so I took the leap and opened a bigger space. That’s how Calm + Chaos began.”

With such a personal experience of the mental and physical benefits of exercise, it’s easy to see how Ali’s passion for fitness became a calling to help others. “Recovery gave me perspective and fitness gave me my life back. I started Calm + Chaos to share that with others. To really help people feel stronger, more in control and more connected to themselves.”
Working from his own gym, Ali began to specialise in fitness for older adults. “We were the only gym in the area helping people in their 40s, 50s and 60s lose weight, build muscle and actually stay pain-free through a mix of personal training and Pilates in a supportive, non-intimidating environment.”
I'm a big believer in community. I want to create a space where people can slow down and take care of themselves.
Considering Ali’s unique experience, we are Botanical Place are proud to welcome his company, “Calm + Chaos”, as well as his purpose-built fitness studio, into our village. Ali is also delighted to be working in our community: “Botanical Place has a high-quality feel that aligns with our brand, and the catchment area is ideal for reaching people who value health, wellness and community. I'm a big believer in community. I want to create a space where people can slow down and take care of themselves.”
Botanical Place residents will be able to visit Ali’s studio to take part in personal fitness training and Pilates classes. “We will be offering residents a space that feels welcoming and different. My dream is for somewhere residents can see what we’re building and want to be part of it. To me, community means being part of something where people feel comfortable, supported and like they belong. At Calm + Chaos it's not just about training, it's about helping people build better habits, stay consistent and feel confident.

When you’re around others who are working towards similar goals, you’re more likely to train intentionally and take recovery seriously. That’s what helps people get real, lasting results”
We’d like to thank Ali for sharing his story with us, and we look forward to welcoming his company into our community. You can find out more about Botanical Place, and book your own visit here:
