Olive's Story
The state of wellbeing encompasses a person’s physical and mental health and how this affects their happiness. Each individual who took part in the outing to Stover Park had their personal reasons for choosing to go on this minibus trip organized by Michelle. I can give you mine and tell you how these few hours affected my wellbeing.
An opportunity to go out to a beautiful place with my dog and others living at the Priory was very welcome
I am still mobile and enjoy walking with my dog, who is my close companion and goes everywhere with me. I no longer drive and therefore an opportunity to go out to a beautiful place with my dog and others living at the Priory was very welcome. I was anxious that others may not welcome my dog as she can be upset by other dogs, but I was persuaded to bring her by some of those going on this trip. I was grateful for this.
During the afternoon I learnt that other people also had their own anxieties, but these had been overcome by the kindness and understanding of Michelle. Some of the participants, not as mobile as myself, were able to enjoy the fresh air, open space and wildlife using walking aids and a wheelchair. It gave me pleasure to see this. I hope that this awareness continues and acknowledges that those who are less able have a need to get out and about for their wellbeing. However, I am aware that this may need the allocation of additional resources for staff and equipment to ensure safety.

Living at the Priory enables residents to live independently in beautiful surroundings but the minibus and our kind professional staff provide us with the freedom to experience the outdoors and improve our wellbeing.
