Meet Kelly: The Heart of Our Community at The Wyldewoods
For Kelly, community isn’t just part of her job, it’s a way of life. As Community Coordinator at The Wyldewoods, she brings energy, warmth, and a genuine commitment to helping residents feel seen, supported, and connected every day.
Originally from Exeter and raised in Nottingham, Kelly found her forever home in Chester at 22—and never looked back. A proud mum to two grown-up daughters and her young son, family remains the foundation of everything she does. That deep sense of belonging, care, and purpose is something she now brings to our village life.
Kelly's Role at The Wyldewoods
At The Wyldewoods, Kelly’s role centres on nurturing community spirit and helping every resident feel at home. From seasonal celebrations and wellbeing workshops to low-key coffee mornings and creative crafts, she curates a calendar of inclusive activities that promote independence, purpose, and joy at every stage of life.
She’s particularly passionate about encouraging intergenerational connection and inviting the wider community in—helping residents stay actively involved in the world around them and reinforcing the village’s role as a positive force in the local area.

Kelly's Journey to The Wyldewoods
Before joining The Wyldewoods, Kelly worked in fundraising and engagement at local charities including Stick ‘n’ Step and the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Her experience in building relationships, hosting events, and amplifying voices has equipped her with the empathy and confidence to foster the kind of community that thrives on mutual support.
Key Skills Kelly Brings to the Team
Known for her creative flair and can-do attitude, Kelly doesn’t just organise events—she creates moments that matter. Whether it’s a quiet one-to-one chat or a lively community gathering, she meets each day with flexibility, compassion, and a belief in the value of meaningful human connection.
“The most rewarding part of my role is seeing people light up—when they join in, make a new friend, or rediscover a sense of purpose. That’s when I know we’re building something special.”
One of the best bits of advice I’ve ever had came from my grandad: ‘Never judge anyone, and remember—you’re only here once, so make it count.’ It’s stayed with me. I try to approach everyone with kindness and make the most of every opportunity to connect.
Life Outside of Work
When she’s not working, Kelly can often be found upcycling old furniture, bringing personal style and second-life charm to everyday spaces. She’s passionate about sustainability, loves spending time outdoors, and has recently discovered a love for camping. (There’s also the occasional visit to the steam room—purely for wellbeing, of course!)
At The Wyldewoods, Kelly is helping to shape more than just a calendar of events—she’s helping to build a community that offers comfort, independence, and a strong sense of belonging for everyone who calls it home.
