Retirement Villages Group (RVG) is pleased to announce that Yarrow, a stylish new restaurant, will open its doors week commencing 24 November at the landmark Botanical Place in West Byfleet.

The restaurant will be led by executive chef Kyle Robinson who brings Michelin-star experience, offering dishes crafted from the finest seasonal ingredients. RVG has also unveiled Coffee #1 and Woking & Sam Beare Hospice’s Boutique Shop as the next additions to its exciting retail mix.

Yarrow marks the second restaurant open to the public as part of RVG’s growing Thrive Living collection, following the successful launch of Sage at The Wyldewoods in Chester. The Thrive Living collection focuses on creating integrated, sustainable communities that bring people together through wellbeing, culture, and great food.

RVG has just hosted Give Back Week, a celebration of community spirit at Botanical Place, bringing together charity, faith, social, and local business groups who have been part of the journey so far. The initiative offered these valued partners an opportunity to get a preview of Botanical Place, inspiring ideas for future collaborations and strengthening connections within the community.

Located in the heart of West Byfleet, just minutes from the train station, Botanical Place has been designed to provide exceptional, sustainable living for over 65s, while also creating a welcoming destination for the wider community. Centred around a vibrant public square surrounded by shops, cafes and businesses it brings residents, neighbours, and the wider community together.

The new community provides 197 beautifully designed apartments with a myriad of amenities including a private residents’ lounge, roof terraces, wellbeing suite, gym, cinema room and Yarrow- the new restaurant, which will be open to the public.

The news follows on from the August announcement regarding Oluchi Chocolates, COOK, and Calm & Chaos as the first trio of retailers.

The new Woking & Sam Beare Hospice Boutique Shop will sell a range of pre-loved clothing and accessories as well as small gifts and homeware items. All proceeds support the vital work of the charity that delivers palliative and end of life care.

Kerry Bennett, a Director at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, comments: “We are delighted to be returning to West Byfleet, which is where we opened our first shop some 30 years ago. Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a charity that is a vital part of the Northwest Surrey healthcare system. We could not deliver the breath of services free of charge to our patients and their loved ones without the income we are able to generate from our shops. We are therefore very excited to be part of the new complex at Botanical Place. Please do support us with donations of any saleable goods and look out for volunteering opportunities.”

Coffee#1 was founded in Cardiff in 2001 with a simple mission - to create welcoming spaces where people can enjoy really great coffee in comfort, will open later this year.

Jodie Makin, Area Manager, at Coffee #1 comments: “We want everyone who visits Coffee#1 to feel welcome and relaxed. Whether you’re with friends, family or by yourself with a good book or your laptop, or part of a community group, our coffee shop will be a warm, inviting place.

“Botanical Place is all about creating a vibrant, welcoming hub where people can gather, relax and enjoy the community. That philosophy matches our own perfectly, and we’re excited to bring our neighbourhood coffee shop atmosphere to this unique destination where we can integrate with the local community.”

Robert Pyatt, General Manager at Botanical Place, commented: “Botanical Place sets a new benchmark for later living, creating not only an exceptional place to live but a landmark new destination for West Byfleet that everyone can enjoy. Welcoming Coffee #1 and Woking & Sam Beare Hospice’s Boutique Shop to our diverse retail mix, and the opening of Yarrow, is an exciting next step in bringing this vision to life.

“As long-term owners and operators of Botanical Place, we’re committed to ensuring both our residents and the town centre thrive.”

Botanical Place will be whole of life net zero carbon - the first residential scheme in the UK to hit this standard, demonstrating how the operator, RVG, is leading the way in the later living sector. Carbon emissions will be minimised and offset over the entire life of the community, contributing to a more sustainable future for residents and the wider town.

Botanical Place is set to host the West Byfleet Together Christmas light switch on and celebrations on 22 November. There are also discovery days in early December for those who wish to visit and find out more, with places filling up quickly. Visit the Botanical Place web page here.
