Keeping active is the subject of a seminar aimed at the over 65s being held at Mayford Grange, near Woking. The afternoon event on Friday, 11th March, is set to encourage those attending to keep active – not only physically but mentally and socially too.

The seminar will feature three speakers: Catrina Milford, countryside information and membership officer for The National Trust; Alan Clough, chairman of Woking U3A (University of the Third Age); and chairman of The Friends of Woking Community Hospital James Gemmell.

All three will be discussing their organisations, how to get involved and the benefits.

“There are endless studies which show being active is key to a happy, healthy life,” said Sales Consultant Gill Davies. “That is echoed in the lifestyle the residents here enjoy. The afternoon is aimed at introducing people to new ideas about how they too can get and stay active on several different levels.”

The seminar – Keeping Active in Retirement – is free to attendees and includes afternoon tea. Mayford Grange is an age exclusive community on the fringe of Mayford, near Woking consisting of 42 privately owned apartments. A new nine bed nursing home is set to open in the spring.
