We all recognise that our well-kept village gardens and grounds are stunning – with something to please the senses whatever the season.

However, thanks to the talents and keen eyes of many residents, we can share some fantastic images from around our communities that may otherwise have not been seen.

A huge well done to everyone who entered our Summer Gardens Photography competition – we had some amazing images which made selecting winners and runners-up a tricky task.

The winner, from the many favourite garden, flower and wildlife shots, is Margaret Hatch from Castle Village with her atmospheric tree photo. Well done to judges’ choice Margaret who wins a £100 voucher from crocus.co.uk

Worthy runners up – who each win a £25 voucher – include; Alan Gray (Mayford Grange), Lindsay Maeder (Avonpark), Rosie Williams (Gittisham), Mr Gammie (Thamesfield) and Sandra Braznell (The Priory).

The competition was open to people from outside the villages and we were pleased to see a number of entries – one of which was awarded a runner-up prize. Well done to Robert!

We think you will agree that these are wonderful images. If you have any photographs from your community that you would like to share, don’t forget you can post them on our Facebook page
