ALUNA - a premium new blueprint for wellbeing in later living
A new kind of wellbeing club, open to residents and the wider community, launches today across two of RVG's Thrive Living communities in Surrey and Cheshire.
Aluna is a premium wellbeing club created as a defining part of RVG's new Thrive Living collection - and a significant step forward for wellbeing in later living.
Aluna is not a gym. It is a calm, confidence-building experience where guided movement, warm water restoration and genuine connection sit naturally alongside one another. Guidance is always close but never imposed. Everything is designed to help people feel comfortable from their very first visit - and motivated to return.
Launching today at Botanical Place in West Byfleet, Surrey, and The Wyldewoods in Chester, Cheshire - with Paramount Place in Tunbridge Wells and The Willowbury in West Malling to follow - Aluna is available to all residents as part of everyday life at each Thrive Living community. A limited number of memberships are also open to people living locally. Numbers are intentionally kept small, to protect the calm and personal atmosphere that defines the Aluna experience.
Every element of Aluna has been designed with intention. Interiors are warm, uncluttered and welcoming spaces where people feel at ease from the moment they arrive.
At the heart of each club is specialist EGYM technology: an intelligent guided movement system that uses wearable technology to automatically adjust equipment - seat height, weight and range of motion - to each individual's personalised profile. EGYM adapts to ability, tracks progress over time and removes the guesswork from every session. For those new to exercise, returning after a break, or simply looking for something more supported than a conventional gym, it changes the experience entirely.
At Botanical Place, Guncast Pools and Wellness has designed, engineered and delivered a bespoke hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite as part of the Aluna experience, bringing together advanced hydrotherapy, precision water treatment technology and KLAFS thermal experiences. KLAFS is the world's leading sauna manufacturer, and their involvement reflects the level of quality RVG has set for Aluna from the outset. The result is an environment that sets a new standard for what wellbeing can look like within a retirement community, purposefully designed, premium in specification, and open to external members too.
Aluna members are not simply joining a wellbeing club. They are becoming part of the Thrive Living community. At Botanical Place, members are welcome in Yarrow - our restaurant and bar - where they receive a 10% discount on all food and beverage. At The Wyldewoods, the same warm welcome and 10% discount applies at Sage at Chester, the village's own restaurant and bar. Membership also includes added extras such as wellbeing talks hosted by the community. Movement, restoration, good food and good company is what living well is all about.
Thomas Karlsson, Chief Operating Officer at Retirement Villages Group, said:
“Aluna is a vital part of RVGs mission to support healthy ageing and strengthen connections between residents and the wider community. By encouraging routine, confidence and social connection, it helps people live well for longer. Importantly, Aluna is designed to be open, welcoming and intergenerational, creating a sense of community that extends beyond its walls. This is a new blueprint for wellbeing in later living, delivering long‑term value while reinforcing our commitment to positive ageing and community health.”
Thrive Living communities are purposefully located in or close the towns and established neighbourhoods, keeping residents closely connected to local life - with shops, restaurants and cultural activities on their doorstep. Aluna strengthens that connection further, bringing the wider community in and giving residents another reason to feel that life here is genuinely richer.
