Where Community, Wellbeing, and Joy Come Together
This year, we visited Blagdon, The Priory, and Roseland Parc to capture everyday village life. From friendly chats on a bench to joining in activities, we hear stories from residents about friendship, family, independence, and simple joys. Later in the series, we will share the story of Eddie, Denis, and Tony, whose friendship has grown over time, showing how village life makes it easy to build meaningful connections and that no one has to feel alone.
The series also highlights key aspects of village life, including connection, wellbeing, and staying active. Residents enjoy walks, mini-golf, swimming, and group activities, showing that age is no barrier to fun, new friendships, or learning something new. Stories such as Olive’s, who found comfort and companionship from her neighbours, staff, and her dog Zaza, demonstrate how kindness and community create a safe and happy environment. Everyday moments, whether a conversation over coffee, a shared laugh, or a friendly wave in the garden, reveal the warmth, care, and sense of belonging that make village life so special.
