Earlier this spring, Roseland Parc had the pleasure of rediscovering a very special piece of its history — a time capsule dating back to 2007, hidden away in the foundations when Roseland Parc was first built.

Originally created in collaboration with the local primary school, the time capsule was part of a wider community project. The same children who contributed items to the capsule also helped design the beautiful stainedglass windows that still feature in Roseland’s onsite chapel today — a creative legacy that continues to be cherished.

Unearthed During Improvement Works

The time capsule was uncovered during the Landlord Improvement Programme, which began in October 2025, and rather than simply returning it to the ground, the decision was made to reconnect with the local school and let today’s pupils experience the moment for themselves.

Representatives from Roseland Parc, alongside partners from Tec Construction and Development, visited the primary school to open the capsule together with the children. What followed was a morning filled with laughter, music and plenty of curiosity — including a rather enthusiastic group rendition of Lord of the Dance before two pupils were chosen to officially open the box.

A Window Into Childhoods Past

Inside the capsule were snapshots of another generation: handprints from former pupils, photographs, magazines and a variety of personal items, each telling a quiet story of school life nearly two decades ago.

The school council later took responsibility for reviewing the contents in more detail, and it was agreed that every child would take part in a new project — creating and contributing their own items to be added before the capsule is reburied later in the spring.

Inspiring the Next Generation

As part of the visit, Tec Construction also launched a Health & Safety poster competition with the pupils. The winning designs will be proudly displayed on the site hoardings going up in May, putting young creativity front and centre in the continued evolution of Roseland Parc.

Building Connections That Last

The morning was a wonderful reminder that Roseland Parc is more than just a place to live — it’s part of a wider community. Reconnecting with local schools, celebrating shared history and creating opportunities for future generations to contribute all play an important role in shaping the village’s story.

It was, in every sense, a fabulous morning — one that perfectly reflects Roseland Parc’s commitment to community, collaboration and creating meaningful connections across generations.
