One of the many activities and clubs taking place in Castle Village is Art Club. This resident-run group takes place every Monday morning.
The Art Club at Castle Village is run by Prue Wescombe. Pru has always enjoyed art, having not been able to study it when she was younger she studied it in her retirement. She attended the University of Hertfordshire in St Albans for five years, studying many different techniques, and enjoys painting watercolor the most.
The group has many different artists – embroidery, painting, and drawing – to name but a few. Many of the residents attend every week to catch up and get creative.
Pru, commented, “When I studied art I never thought I’d use it for something like this, but I enjoy leading the group together each week and talking about our creations.”
