A lifelong passion for hospitality
With more than 30 years’ experience in hospitality, food and beverage, Martin’s career has taken him across hotels, restaurants and bars, building a deep understanding of what great service really looks and feels like. Most recently, he led operations at Ridgeview Wine Estate in Sussex, one of England’s leading sparkling wine producers — a role that combined exceptional guest experience with a strong sense of place. Before that, he was Operations Manager at One Warwick Park hotel in Tunbridge Wells, further strengthening his connection to the local area.
His career has also included time working across wedding venues, cruise liners and wider tourism, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how to create memorable experiences that feel both seamless and personal.
I am genuinely excited to be taking the helm at Paramount Place. As a resident of the local area myself I see the value in building a strong sense of place and creating a space where everyone can live and age well. We want to support one another, in our teams, with our residents and families and within our community.
A true local connection
Building a team and a sense of home
As Paramount Place moves closer to opening, Martin has been focused on building a team that will truly bring the village to life. He’s committed to creating a culture where colleagues feel proud of what they do, and where residents experience a consistently warm, friendly and thoughtful approach each day. At the heart of this is his belief that it’s the small, everyday moments, the welcome, the conversation, the sense of ease, that help create a place people can genuinely call home.
From the stage to hospitality
Before his career in hospitality, Martin was also a professional actor, performing across the UK and internationally. It’s an experience that still influences how he sees the world today. There’s a sense that every interaction matters — that each day is an opportunity to create something memorable.
It’s a mindset that translates seamlessly into his work, bringing a thoughtful, human approach to everything he does and helping to shape Paramount Place into somewhere that feels vibrant, welcoming and full of life.
I believe hospitality, in all its forms, is much like theatre. As the saying goes, this is no dress rehearsal… this is it. Time moves quickly for all of us, so it’s important to make every moment count.
