Building Community, Shaping What Comes Next
At Avonpark Village, we recently brought together the local Winsley and Limpley Stoke community to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter. As we begin construction on the next phase of the village, this moment felt like more than just the start of a £40m redevelopment - it was about investing in the future of a place that already means so much to the people who live here.
Residents were joined by neighbours, local representatives and a Year 5 class from Winsley Primary School, coming together to celebrate in a way that felt true to Avonpark. While we marked the occasion with a ceremonial breaking of ground, it was the time capsule that truly captured the spirit of the day.
Together, we filled it with letters to the future, personal mementos and children’s drawings of what “home” means, each one reflecting the life, warmth and sense of belonging that define the village today. As it was placed into the ground, it became a quiet but meaningful reminder of what makes Avonpark special: a community shaped not just by the homes we build, but by the people, memories and connections that bring it to life every day.
A Growing Community, A Shared Future
This next phase is about building on that foundation, thoughtfully and carefully.
We’ll be introducing 69 new apartments bringing the total village units to 156, alongside beautifully designed spaces that bring people together, including a new restaurant, bar, shop, library and dedicated wellness areas including a GP surgery.
Importantly, the work will be carefully phased to ensure the rhythm of village life continues with as little disruption as possible.
Where Everyday Life Continues to Flourish
We know how important it is that Avonpark continues to feel like home throughout this process, so construction will be carefully phased to minimise disruption, with thoughtful planning in place as the work progresses. Completion is expected in Autumn 2027, allowing the village to evolve at a pace that feels considered and respectful of everyday life here.
Set within the Limpley Stoke Valley, Avonpark is already a thriving community of 92 homes, where connection comes naturally - from walking groups and social events to the quieter moments of neighbourly support. This next chapter isn’t about changing that rhythm, but building on it. Creating new spaces and opportunities that will welcome future residents, while continuing to enhance life for those who already call Avonpark home.
Living Well, Together
For RVG, this project has always been about long-term investment in quality of life, supporting the freedom to live independently, the confidence that comes from being part of a connected community, and the peace of mind that sits gently in the background.
As Tim Seddon, our Chief Executive Officer, shared on the day, the time capsule felt like exactly the right way to mark the moment. It captured what Avonpark has always been, a place people genuinely love living in and what we are committed to preserving as it grows. This isn’t simply about development, but about enriching the everyday, the shared meals, the friendships, and the feeling of being exactly where you belong.
