Elmbridge Village has partnered with a local business in Cranleigh to open a plastic-free shop in the community. The shop is part of the community’s wider sustainability plans.
Our local business partner is called For Earth’s Sake, based on Cranleigh High Street, the shop is a not-for-profit organisation designed to help individuals who want to be kinder to the planet. It opened its doors in 2019 and has been hugely popular in the wider community.
Reducing single-use plastic is a simple step anyone can take to try and live in a more sustainable way. Residents are excited about the improvements to their existing shop and the opportunity to be part of the sustainability revolution and reduce plastic usage across the village.
Kelvin Glen, Village Manager, commented, “We’re working towards our sustainability goals across the village and are looking forward to the opening of the plastic-free shop. The hope is to reduce single plastic usage by 20% before 2025.”
