What is there to do nearby?

Castle Village offers a range of retirement properties in Berkhamsted, where it’s set in mature woodland on the outskirts of the town. Berkhamsted is a popular and affluent commuter town with all the facilities you would expect of a thriving community. There are supermarkets, a theatre, a church, many eateries and cafes, hotels, a GP surgery, a vets, a Post Office and many independent shops.

Castle offers a really great location from which to explore the wider area. A retirement home here in Berkhamsted means easy travel links into London, so you can take advantage of the many theatres, museums, concerts, shops and restaurants the city has to offer.

If you prefer to be more rural then visit English Heritage’s nearby Berkhamsted Castle and explore this Norman motte-and-bailey castle. Or head slightly further out to the Chiltern Hills where you’ll find miles and miles of hiking and cycling trails, pubs and farm shops.

Visit the charming town of St Albans for the Wednesday and Saturday markets or visit the cathedral or one of the many independent shops and eateries.

Easy links to travel further afield

Despite the rural location of this retirement village in Berkhamsted, nearby roads such as the A41 lead to the M1, M25 and A1 giving easy access to the rest of the country.

Likewise there is a regular rail service into Central London from Berkhamsted railway station and Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton airports are all within easy reach too.
