Both retired and in their seventies, couple Barbara, a former teacher, and Brian Radesk, an engineer, decided they needed to think about what their next move would be.
Originally from Yorkshire but living in Burbage in Leicestershire for the last twenty-seven years – the Radesks were excited about the prospect of a new way of living.
Brian said: “We had known about Lime Tree Village and what it had to offer for some time – Barbara has a couple of friends who came here six or seven years ago and spoke highly of it, so we decided to explore what was available.”
A comfortable decision
Lime Tree Village has a wealth of styles and varying properties from privately-owned chalet bungalows to cottages and apartments set in 26 acres of mature landscaped gardens. And only recently, some newly-built cottages at the Polo Field have launched too!
They looked at various options at the village before deciding to purchase a pre-owned cottage, in the original part of the development, overlooking the pond.
Brain explained: “Over this period, which was about two years ago, the village manager and all at Retirement Villages were keen to ensure that we ended up with something that we were happy with.
“We never felt under any pressure to make a decision; as well as looking at the new build properties on the Polo Field we looked at ten pre-owned properties in the original part of the village before making a decision!”
Brian and Barbara moved to Lime Tree Village in September 2018 and are settling in well.
Brian said: “It is still early days, but we have been made very welcome and have started to join in many of the activities and social events.”
Centrally located in Warwickshire with fantastic transport links, the village often scores top marks for location amongst the residents.
The village is set in mature parkland yet close to local amenities and within easy reach of Stratford, Leamington Spa, Coventry, and Birmingham.
Brian emphasised: “In our particular circumstances the location suits us very well. It is roughly a 30-minute drive from where we used to live – so we can still keep up with and visit our friends there.
“And we can continue to take part in activities and clubs at the village – so have the best of both worlds. It is also very central with good access to airports, a mainline railway station and motorway system making travel in any direction very easy.”
Lime Tree Village is home to the stunning Cawston House which provides a picturesque back drop to the village and contains a range of exclusive facilities including stylish bar, conservatory, restaurant, meeting room, library and snooker room.
Brian added: “The facilities here are excellent and the village itself centered round Cawston House is delightful, the first impression as you drive through the gate being ‘wow this looks good’.”
Worries at bay
Across all our Retirement Villages we’re passionate that our residents and their loved ones feel assured that this is a great place to live.
Brian and Barbara are an example of residents who benefit from this ethos, he said: “We feel confident that the village will provide a secure, safe and friendly environment for us. And peace of mind for our family who will have the knowledge that help, and support would be available to us if we need it. We look forward to taking part in village life and taking advantage from what it has to offer.”
