The residents at Cedars Villages have been working hard to continue raising funds for the Retirement Villages Ukraine Appeal. In the community clubhouse there is now a donation box for sunflowers and a Ukraine lager for residents to purchase.
The lager brand, Chernigivske, is one of the best-loved brands in Ukraine. The beer was brewed for the first time as a gift to celebrate the 1,300-year anniversary of the city in 1988. It’s been brought to the UK by the lager brand Budweiser who are donating all profits from its sale to charity. The village is proud to be serving it in the clubhouse for residents and guests.
Colin Foulger, Village Manager, comments, “The generosity of the residents to this appeal has been amazing. It’s great to see everyone pulling together for such a worthwhile cause.”
