The History: Charters Towers is the Manor House at the heart of Charters Village. Built in 1900, originally as a gracious family home, it became home to the Bush Davies School of Theatre Arts during the Second World War.
In 1967, the school opened the Adeline Genee Theatre on the site and world renowned ballet dancers including Dame Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev performed there.
