Russell’s dedication is rewarded
The Priory’s groundsman, Russell Skinner has been awarded the Retirement Village Star Award, presented to members of staff who demonstrate excellent working practices and who make an outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of residents at the village.
Shirley Buckley, the village manager said: “Russell is a wonderful employee and his commitment to his work is outstanding. He has such a positive nature, and willing to do anything you ask of him. He has five acres of gardens, woodland, and wild flower meadow to maintain, including a putting green, croquet lawn, large stone boundary walls, and even a private carriage drive.
“The village grounds are always immaculate and his hard work is greatly appreciated by all the residents who love spending time in the gardens.”
Russell lives locally and is married with children and great-grandchildren, some of whom live in Australia and he visits regularly. He’s worked at the village for the last 18 years making sure that the extensive landscaped gardens are always looking their best, so that the residents can relax and enjoy them.
Thrilled to receive his Star Award, Russell said: “I am proud to work for Retirement Villages and really enjoy looking after the grounds for the residents here at The Priory. This award is very much appreciated.”
