A week in the life of the Priory

We thought it would be good for visitors to our village website pages to get a real flavour of what life is really like at The Priory. I’ve put together this brief round-up from last week, it paints a busy picture!

Monday saw our weekly Tai Chi class – very popular as it’s so great for general well being and balance. This was followed by the coffee morning which is held three times a week.  Members of the local community who also attend the Tai Chi join us for coffee and are always made very welcome.

On Tuesday the village mini-bus took residents on their weekly shopping trip to Newton Abbot followed by a home-cooked lunch by our professional chef on their return. Tuesday afternoon is also the day for the croquet team to meet. This group has grown tremendously this year and they have a lot of fun and plenty of laughs!

Wednesday welcomed the Art Group into the Octagon (the former Chapter House in the convent days). Once again members of the local community are always welcome to join in. Coffee was served in the Forum.

The mini-bus takes residents on another trip on Thursday morning; this time it’s Torquay but it varies between this seaside town or Totnes, the local garden centres or just general shopping – whatever residents choose to do.

Friday saw a number of residents taking part in the armchair musical exercise class, again followed by coffee and a social get-together in the Forum. Each month on a Friday we also have our themed evening suppers to look forward to, a really popular date on the village calendar.
