To celebrate Indian Independence Day the residents at Thamesfield retirement village held a wonderful Indian themed lunch.

The menu offered a delicious choice of foods prepared by the village catering team, who dressed up in traditional attire to get into the spirit of the day.

The menu included poppadums with a selection of homemade chutneys, herb crusted salmon with fennel and pineapple kachumber, vegetable samosas with Indian salad and mango chutney, chicken korma, or beef madras with pilau rice or sag aloo and naan bread. Dessert was a choice of mango and passion fruit kulfi or grilled peaches with spiced white chocolate and cardamom panna cotta.

There was also music! The residents were thrilled to have the soprano Erica Eloff to sing during the event, accompanied by Pam Chilvers on the piano.
