Famous Author Annie Murray visits the village

On Monday 24th July, Thamesfield residents welcomed bestselling author Annie Murray to the village. Novelist Annie came to speak to residents about her newest novel titled ‘The Doorstep Child’.

Annie Murray first shot to fame after her first novel ‘Birmingham Rose’ hit The Times bestseller list when it was published in 1995. Her newest novel tells the story of the hardship and survival of a young girl named Evie who desperately tries to leave her troubled past behind her. 

Residents, many of who are avid readers thoroughly enjoyed Annies visit and her tales of where and how she finds inspiration for her novels.

Thamesfields’ activities co-ordinator Alison commented, “It was fantastic to have Annie Murray come to the village and it was exciting and fascinating for the residents to meet an author behind some of their most loved books.”
