Ramp up the Red

Diary posted

28th February 2014

With February being National Heart Month, we decided to put together a ‘Rock up the Red’ day to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, as we did in 2013.

The staff plus a resident, headed by our manager Malvenia firstly did a sponsored cycle ride from the village to Draycote Water and back, including the 5-mile circuit around the reservoir. Sponsorship by residents and staff was in excess of £350.

As in 2013 lots of us came together (wearing something red, of course!) to give generously in exchange for homemade cakes, cards and crafts, as well as trying our luck in the tombola and raffle, with gifts donated from residents and staff alike.

The event was an outstanding success.

The final total of £1,200, including money from a special photographic fund, will be donated to the British Heart Foundation during a presentation at the village on Thursday 20th February 2014
