On Friday, 29th September, as venues throughout the country held coffee mornings in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Charity, Lime Tree Village residents again played their part in the fundraising with their own special event.
Kathleen Stubbs worked tirelessly organising the morning and ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Tea, coffee and cakes were served and there were numerous stalls to tempt residents to part with their money. Cakes, books, cards and knick- knacks were sold while the tombola and raffle proved very popular.
Year on year the sums raised by Lime Tree Village for Macmillan have grown and this year when Kathleen and her husband, Reg, counted the proceeds, they were pleased to see that the sum raised had topped previous totals. Over £950 had been raised which was made up to £1000 with a few further donations.
Well done Lime Tree Village!
