Lime Tree Village Sports 2014

Diary posted

8th October 2014

Throughout the summer Lime Tree residents have been taking advantage of the good weather to play the various outdoor games. Alongside the casual matches, competitions are organised throughout the season. These are played for fun and are an excellent way of meeting other residents.

This year the finals, both singles and pairs, of the boules, bowls, croquet and putting competitions took place on Wednesday 17th September. The sun shone and the many spectators cheered on the participants, while a cream tea was on offer in the afternoon.

Saturday night was presentation night. A delicious three course meal was served in the restaurant and then the shields and trophies were presented to the winners.  The evening was rounded off by an intriguing quiz based on residents’ surnames, devised by David and Cynthia Sanderson, and a raffle with a difference – the winner being the person whose ticket was drawn last.

We now look forward to next year when the games begin all over again.
